Our Style Rev Artisan Memento Show celebrates creativity in all its richness. Each season we feature a thoughtfully curated artist—either one of our established creatives or an exciting, unrepresented talent—giving them a platform to share their passion with our Style Rev design community. Through engaging exhibitions, artist talks, and interactive events, we foster meaningful connections between artist and audience—as well as supporting emerging voices and fresh perspectives.

Boring* the Label

boring* is an art and object label that explores the depth in the mundane. Founded by a visual artist and educator, the practice is grounded in material play, textural form, and the power of repetition.
Influenced by the instinctive and curious mark-making of children’s art, the work embraces process-led exploration, reactive and often shaped by the materials themselves. Cardboard pulp, wire and foil are transformed into sculptural forms that are both familiar and unexpected.

Two series define the current body of work:

The Boring but Formidable Ladies Club is a vessel series named after mid-century women, softly structured forms that honour the often-overlooked strength of domestic life. Named works like Joan, Yvonne and Vivienne suggest a kind of fictional collective—quietly powerful.

Paintings from the Monument Collection. Concepts of our paintings are loose, they are not thought out in deep intent, rather the mark making of our paintings are mere extensions of our thoughts at that very moment, colour is also worked out by laying on colours then taking them away or whiting them out until it feels good. Mccabe fleeting folk elements, reactive shapes and linework and the balance of ugly bits is everything our art encompasses.

Each piece holds presence and weight through form alone. Together, they become a quiet kind of monument.

Through restraint, repetition, and reverence for the ordinary, boring* invites viewers to look again at what they almost didn’t notice.
